I grew up in Pontiac, MI. and began my career as a teacher in high school and later at Michigan State University and the University of Maryland. I felt a desire to work with clay grow after taking a pottery class while living in Annapolis, MD. I retired from my cable television administration job to move with my wife, Deb, to the mountains of western North Carolina. Here we studied pottery at Haywood Community College.
After graduation, we opened our studio and began selling our craft at local galleries and craft fairs. Over the next few years, Deb, who is an operating room nurse, furthered her studies in business putting pottery aside.
In the fall of 2005, Deb accepted a position at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital as the Director of Perioperative Services. We have made our home in Newfane, Vermont where I opened my studio, Three Dot Pottery.
